Clone Wars Adventures has hit open beta. It's a F2P browser MMO for kids, but there are some fun Mini-games if you're bored and need to pass some time.

Not catching your fancy?

There's a couple specific things in it I really hate.

I will say that it's by far the most gorgeous MMO I've ever seen. The world and characters are just beautiful. What it all boils down to for me is that it feels more like a plain RPG than an MMORPG. I just can't justify paying a monthly fee for that.

Well, after 18 hours just to download and install, the game times out every time I attempt to log in.

Not a promising start.

I think the servers are down for maintenance and a new patch right now.

As a side note, I'm pretty sure after 6-8 hours of gameplay that I will not be playing after launch. Cry

No one will care, but I'm just going to share anyway  Tongue

So, no one was in game and for grins I decided to run a skirm with my guard (I've actually gained a level on him in the past week or so - first such in about 1.5 years - maybe I'll hit lvl40 on him before we reach Mordor).

I'm running the tuckborough skirm with my bannerguard.  I'm defending the 1st wave at the last check point before the courtyard and my bannerguard (whom I've since renamed Stupid) gets a bug up his butt and runs from where the hobbits are all the way to, then into, the courtyard - where he aggros the whole place just in time for the 2nd wave to spawn at which point he promptly craps his pants and he runs back  ... I know it is pointless but I swap to sword & board (not like I can run off aggro in a skirm) and go down fighting... 3 Lts (the death rez guy, a shepard of filth, and the one with the healing aura) and maybe 12-15 normals.  I was surprised how long we lasted - didn't have a chance in hell of winning but I had time to use all of my skills, blow my cooldowns and use a pot.

Yep. Still using P2P. I downloaded and patched in less than 4 hours a couple days ago.

Started characters on the Melmond server.

I'll have any answer for that in about 4 hours.

Is it still using the P2P download thing for the client?  When I used it for closed beta, it took me like 2-3 full days to download the full game, it was terrible!  Sad

I wish I had tried this before work so I could spend the day downloading the client, instead of waiting until tonight. Wink
